Do I Need an Attorney?
The answer to this question is almost certainly "yes" unless your car accident was very minor and there are no injuries. Insurance companies are generally pretty good about repairing damage to vehicles and generally really, really bad about paying reasonable compensation for damage and injuries to people hurt in a car or truck accident. If a car wreck insurance company does make an offer for your injuries, that offer is almost always just a fraction of what a competent car or truck accident attorney would obtain for you.
One of the things that insurance adjusters are trained to do in car accident cases is to tell people that "they don't need an attorney" or that "the attorney will take all the money that we are offerening and you will end up getting less". Car accident adjusters are trained to say this because insurance companies know that if you hire an attorney the insurance company will pay much more than if you don't have an attorney. In over 25 years of handling car and truck accident cases, we have NEVER had a case where our clients got less in their pocket than they would have if they had taken the insurance company's offer.
